Pete Yorn - "Life on a Chain"

Pete Yorn is a man with big brass balls. He had a dream that he collaborated with Scarlett Johansson on an album. He approached her through her agent (his brother) and they did collaborate to release 2009 "Break Up" featuring the dynamite single 'Relator'. My dreams about Scarlett have no hope of coming true!


This track popped up on the radio recently, and I totally dug it. It's from his 2001 debut 'musicforthemorningafter'. Enjoy

Purity Ring - "Fineshrine"

This Edmonton based duo started on a lark with a single last year "Ungirthed", and have just dropped their debut album "Shrines" on 4AD records. It received a 'Best New Music' nod on Pitchfork, and they are already on a European tour for the summer. Not bad. Their sound is ethereal with vocals provided by Megan James and production by Corrin Roddick. This is a great single, with a tripped-out video.

Dan Scotty - Hard Rain's Gonna Fall

This classic Dylan tune is one that strikes me deep as a parent. We never can tell where our children will end up, we can only be there when then need us as a home base/soft place to land. Congratulations Regan on the birth of a blue-eyed son! Where will he go?

Yukon Blonde - "My Girl"
